Please take the A Better Oakland reader survey

Remember how I mentioned last week that part of the reason I haven’t been posting lately is because I’m using recess to work on some changes to the site? Well, that work is ongoing (although I will have some normal blogs up later this week).

Like I said before, I think you guys are going to like what I’m working on, and I wish I could say when it’s all going to be ready, but I don’t want to promise a date and not be able to deliver (my original goal was to coincide with the Council’s return from recess, but that’s looking increasingly unlikely), so we’re going to leave it in the air for now. In the meantime, I need your help. I want to make this blog as user friendly as possible, and to do that, I need to know a little more about how you guys use the site and what you like/don’t like about it.

You’re welcome to leave a comment here about any changes you’d like to see, but what I really want is for you all to take this survey. It is not very long and should only take a few minutes, but will be immensely helpful to me as far as figuring out what I do and do not need to do to improve the user experience on the site.

Oh – and there’s nothing in there about the spam filter, but you don’t need to leave a comment telling me about the false positives and how it needs to be fixed. I am very aware of the problem and am working on a solution. I appreciate everyone’s patience in the meantime.

V, this is the first time I’ve ever ticked a box on a survey that lumped me in with 40-year-olds.

I have to agree. I’d prefer the choices be “`18-21″ and “other”. Of course, that may only be an issue because I am 45. 45! 20 years ago, I was absolutely sure this would never happen.
