Planning 101

If you haven’t read dto510′s introduction to how zoning works in Oakland, do so now. When you’re immersed in this stuff all the time, it’s really easy to forget that terms like FAR and HBX mean nothing to the average person on the street. The post on FutureOakland is a great primer.

Happy birthday! And I agree, dto510′s post is essential reading for anyone who cares about Oakland (or any city, for that matter).

len raphael: City says there are now 7 concurrent recall petitions. Not clear how many are for Quan and how many for Council Members. Direct democracy at work.
